Blue Monday & The Plight of Los Angeles.

for more Blue Monday hosted by Smiling Sally go here

Many of you may have heard of some of the ridiculous things going on in Los Angeles under the reign of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa abuses of power by himself and his wife and scandals in morality so to be reunited with him for yet another term is somewhat disappointing but it is what it is.

It has my intention from the beginning to make this blog not just a photographic haven for myself but to voice opinions & facts in Articles of my own, to use my “Today’s Words” on a personal level and in cases to tie it all together. I hope this post  is informative as well as Blue and it is not my intention bore anyone so please and I mean Paleeze let me know if you feel that bringing a photo theme and an issue together is in any way inappropriate, I have so many kind visitors and I value your opinions.

Los Angeles being not just the City of Angels but a county and it houses many cities, once such city is Van Nuys. It is in a sense a hub hosting a county records building, court houses and a main offices for the Department of Water & Power, and many other large businesses have a main office in this area. According to Phil Willon in a June 09 article for the L.A. Times described the future of Villaraigosa’s newest term as less than bright which does not provide much hope for those depending on him and while he has received kudos for lowering the crime rate in L.A. with the budget depleted and accountability of its condition nonexistent there may not be enough money to keep the streets now safer in that same state. He is also has the issue of the L.A. Unified School District to contend with and “where was he when they were Going broke?” Now that they are broke he will have to put away his playmate….. Oh maybe he did that already, and his wife apparently has put him back up on the shelf (Barrett, 2009) and start paying attention to financial issues. Not that bringing some control to the crime rate was easy it required some hard work and intelligence but he needs to step up to the plate and do his fiscal duty and at least attempt to deploy some kind of repair to the financial state of L.A. and if he cannot incite accountability to those that created this current dilemma than he certainly owes it to his constituents to devise a way to propagate future accountability……. effectively.

Common Mayor Villaraigosa do your job!

I think your two meme’s worked well with each other. I enjoy this a great deal. My problem is I’m not in LA so don’t know a lot of the issues. But I will say that all politicians should do what their constituents elect them to do and so many of them don’t. It sickens me :)

Hey Thom, there is only the one Meme the blue Monday, that’s why I was worried about mixing it up, I did not know how an article and meme would hold up together. I am glad you think it is ok, you always have great stuff on your site so I trust your opinion.

I think it’s great that you are using your blog for your voice. If there is a politician in office anywhere in this country that is worth the price we’re paying I’d like to know who it is. It was a great disappointment when Gavin Newsome was re-elected as mayor of SF (which effects everyone within a 100 mile radius – much like L.A.). And watch out – he’s gonna run for governor! He is trouble with a capital T as he has little or no regard for actual law. Why do all these people live in our beautiful California?
