This is an interesting subject for me because right now in Los Angeles California (USA) one of the largest school districts in the Country is suffering the effects of their own greed. They have long been placing district monies into things of lesser importance than the children the teachers and the tools they need to teach and keep schools safe buy spending on cosmetic issues and lining pockets. Yes these ARE accusations I have one recent grad and one in her sophomore year of high school.
Now the kids are losing their teachers to massive cuts backs, summer school is available only for those kids re-taking a failed class, class sizes will go up I believe to like 40 or 50 kids per class, our kids are getting ripped off! And my biggest gripe over the years has been the lack of respect for the native language. America is probably the only country that allows this disrespect for the native language for an entire country. In the schools of the LAUSD (Los Angeles school district) the children and their families are accommodated from K thru 12 if they fail to learn English, please if someone lives in another country were their language of origin is ignored please let me know and I’ll stand down on this one!

There is nothing that pisses me off worse than ignoring our language. If you come over here to live, you better damn well speak our language all the time. But it doesn’t happen and I cannot stand it. There should be no answering machine that says press 1 for English and 2 for Spanish or whatever other language is spoken a lot in that area. Your here damn it…SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!
