Thursday Thirteen

Thursday Thirteen is brought to us by well you know those people that took over after it disappeared!
So My 13 will be 13 things that happened on our vacation at Carpinteria Beach state campgrounds

  1. Mark and I got to spend one whole night(Thursday) by ourselves up at the camp site with our friends but No kids!
  2. Mark made another awesome pot of chili that everyone scarfed up Saturday night.
  3. I drove all the way back to town and returned to the beach (about 200 miles)to get Leighann (our youngest) and Darrelle (or middle sudo-child) and bring them back after their school was done for the week on Friday.
  4. Elayna our oldest for the first time ever didn’t come on vacation because she had college mid-terms to study for and book club to attend …. you know grown-up stuff!
  5. I took Leighann and Darrelle to the Santa Barbara zoo on Saturday, we got lots of great pictures and had a good time. We then went to Tony’s pizza back in Carpinteria for lunch….Good Times!
  6. Saturday Evening before chili a group of us walked about a half mile down the beach to the tide pools to see the Sea Lions. They were not there that evening but we had fun anyway.
  7. Our group camp site (we get the same on every year) had one very annoying visitor a busy gopher that made so many holes you had to watch where you stepped! We thought our radio club leader Leon was going to cook the gopher for Saturday nights dinner but that is another story!
  8. We had beautiful weather from Thursday till Sunday it was gorgeous out!
  9. Mysteriously on Sunday when some of our group was getting read to leave several of their vehicles had dead batteries… coincidence?
  10. Several club members showed up late for the trip one because they were getting ready to leave for Australia right after the camp out!
  11. Carpinteria State Beach is along the coast where the railroad tracks are (the tracks go up the coast quite far North) and so we listen to the trains running through all day and Night! The tracks actually run through the camp ground near the Dump area. I have been coming to this beach since I was a child so I am used to the trains, for some folks they can be annoying.
  12. A the bathrooms had pretty good hot water in the showers this year so they must have replaced the solar panels cuz there was lots of hot water!
  13. We all made it home safe and sound without a single mishap!

  6. What a wonderful view! I love your Thursday Thirteen. No kids would be a privilege from time to time. But, if they aren’t around we miss them so much ;) . It’s good to read that you had a great time. I have to work on my vacation posts, somehow they always get delayed these days. There’s so much to do at home. Have a splendid day, Amanda :)
