Thursday Thirteen: OMG ! Christmas is Coming!

I thought I would do my 13 on things I need to do to get ready for the holidays. To see other players list of 13’s visit the Home of the new ThursdayThirteen!

  1. Get into the attic and see what I want to bring down this year.
  2. Clear the space in the dining room for the tree.
  3. Have Mark bring the tree down.
  4. Pick up a new seasonal table cloth and placemats the old ones need to go!
  5. Bring down the decorations for the outer rooms first like the guest bathroom because they are the easiest to get out of the way.
  6. Find moms latch hook rug and hang it up.
  7. Get out and set up the living room and dining room decorations.
  8. Sit down and do some serious present decisions for Mark the girls and my Mom.
  9. Get the tree decorated with un-breakables on the bottom because the kitten will play with anything!
  10. Get the white elephant gifts and toys for the firemen ready for our Radio Christmas diner.
  11. Find something to wear for Marks Company Christmas diner at Parker’s lighthouse.
  12. Get Christmas/holiday cards and ecards sent out.
  13. Wipe the sweat off my brow and hope it is over soon because then the cleanup begins!

Okay, about the kitten … I had a wonderful Fire-point Himalayan for 15 years, but he almost didn’t survive his first Christmas. I decorated the tree. The house was perfect and beautiful. I ran to the airport to pick up our company, returned home, opened the front door, and was absolutely certain somebody had vandalized our home.

Christmas ornaments were everywhere. Tinsel coated the room like abandoned confetti. There were even strands of tinsel dangling from the textured ceiling. The Christmas Tree looked as though it had been raped.

My husband, our guest and I stood in the doorway with our mouths open. Just as I mumbled, what happened? We heard the rumble of kitty feet on the linoleum. Here he came, up the hall, faster than the speed of light. He veered into the kitchen, left onto the counter and launched himself from the breakfast bar to the top of the Christmas tree, which shook violently and bent precariously. Just when I was certain the tree would topple, kitty leapt from the branches and landed gracefully on the couch.

The tree, free of kitty’s weight, sprang up right. Christmas ornaments bounced onto the carpet. Tinsel fluttered through the air. Kitty disappeared down the hall to get ready for his next run.

Quilly I have never laughed so hard I swear there are tears in more than one place running right now! This kitten acts like that on a daily basis (she is a bit of a freak) what really caught my attention was the Himalayan they are the most beautiful creatures! This little thing is from a feral mother so she is a bit wild but I doubt she will ever come close to you cat I can just imagine walk, ing in the door to Astro kitty launching its self off the tree! OMG I am still laughing/crying/crossing my legs!
