Back ups and Google Friends
Hi everyone, I wanted to relate this little story because I would hate to see it happen to anyone else. I was bloggin around town the other day when I came across a lady that blogs that had two fabulous photos, but that was all. Why you ask? And why is it important? She had only the two because her computer crashed and everything along with it. So this weekend I would like to suggest everyone do two things back up you photos and such to an external hard drive or cd/dvd (Flicker and Picassa can crash too you know) and for those of you bloggers that have paid for blogs/your own domain back them up as well, it just makes good sense.
Lastly thanks Thom for sending me the link to start my Google Friends I am sorry it took me so long to get one everyone but it is there now should you so choose to add me!
Lets have an Awesome 2010!

I need to get another one AND I need to clean up some stuff.
Days are just too short
I have all my shots up to 2008 on DVDs and CDs at home.
After that my Picasa didn’t want to do the Backups right any more
Stay safe you all!

And crap…one last thing. I’ve got to find where I wrote it so give me a couple of days, but there is something with the databases you should do periodically on Bluehost. It cleans them up. It’s like a repair and restore…I’ll find it and let you know

I know there is a bunch of stuff in the C panel I did a backup yesterday but I am still wanting a bit more protection!

BTW…I’m sure you know this and saw my posts, but I have my own dedicated server with Bluehost now. Well worth the money. I can see a big big difference in the speed and it hasn’t let me down at all.

Yep I saw that I may look into that at renewal time coming in June!

Yep, it’s a very good idea – I back up every few months to an external hdd, just in case. And yes, even professional services can have a catastrophe. It’s just good rule of thumb to make your own backups.

Great advice sweetie. I don’t see your google friends up however. I back up all my stuff to a portable drive and I do back up my blog information on Bluehost. And I also use Carbonite. It’s well worth the money. Carbonite.com Great post and great info.
